This month of March, Elva Peláez and Marcos Lorite, two students from the UIB Law Faculty, have successfully participated in the session of the UN Human Rights Committee in Geneva. This culminates the investigative work they carried out in recent months in support of Mr. Carlos Gómez, member of the UN Human Rights Committee, and related to the preparation of the examination by this Committee of the way Serbia meets its international obligations related to civil and political rights.
Congratulations to Elva Peláez and Marcos Lorite for their excellent contribution to the Committee’s examination of the situation in Serbia, a contribution that has earned congratulations from Mr. Gómez and other members of the Committee with whom they have had the opportunity to interact.
This internationalization project related to the participation of students from the UIB Faculty of Law in the work of the UN Human Rights Committee is carried out under the direction and coordination of Prof. Margalida Capellà and Prof. Valentina Milano, director and secretary of the LIDIB respectively. Mr. Carlos Gómez is, in addition to being a member of the UN Human Rights Committee, President of the Superior Court of Justice of the Balearic Islands.
