A group of 7 Legal Clinics from the Spanish Network of Legal Clinics have been working to carry out joint action on the situation in Gaza, including the Legal Clinic of the University of the Balearic Islands.
The action consists of training legal clinic students on the situation of Palestinian refugees to prepare a COI (Country of Origin Information) report, which is the information that can be used in the procedures that evaluate the applications of Palestinians from the refugee status or other forms of international protection.
We have organized 4 specific seminars taught ONLINE by university professors and technical staff from humanitarian organizations (UNRWA and CEAR). The first three are offered openly. The fourth is for internal training of legal clinics.
Given the interest in knowing what is happening in Gaza and how this unprecedented humanitarian crisis has come about, we have decided to open attendance to part of the seminars to law students and other interested people.
Attendance is free, but prior registration is required. Links to sessions are provided once registered. A certificate of attendance will be issued to registered students of the University of the Balearic Islands.
We take advantage of this action to show our support for UNRWA at this time when its humanitarian work is being questioned and at risk.
